Another great week of golf coaching took place in the quaint town of Tavira, where we stayed at the modern Maria Nova Hotel. This was a week of skill-building, mindset shifts, and enjoying some of Portugal’s most stunning golf courses.

A Perfect Start and a Deep Dive into the Mental Game

The week kicked off with a morning coaching session including, long game, pitching and chipping, followed by an afternoon 9-hole round on the Ria course. Players had the chance to immediately apply their learnings on the course, setting the tone for the rest of the week.

Monday brought unexpected weather challenges, but instead of letting it disrupt our progress, we took the opportunity to focus on the mental side of golf. We joined Barney Puttick’s group at the Robinson Hotel for a powerful mindset workshop. The session explored the difference between the conscious and unconscious mind, providing players with techniques to challenge negative thoughts and reframe their approach using intention, attention, and acceptance. This proved to be an invaluable session, giving players new perspectives that they carried into the rest of the week.

Stunning Courses & Unforgettable Rounds

As the weather cleared, we took to the courses, playing a fantastic variety of layouts:

Quinta do Vale
A scenic course near the Spanish border, offering unique challenges and breathtaking views. This Seve design was challenging in many ways, using the landscape to carve fairways through.

Quinta da Ria
Always a favourite, this course delivered stunning coastal scenery and fantastic golf conditions.

Monte Rei Resort
The grand finale!  Using the long game facilities for more coaching we then ventured onto the magnificent course which was an unforgettable experience, with its championship-level layout and pristine fairways and greens.

Evenings in Tavira
Portuguese Cuisine & Relaxation

Being based in town meant we had the chance to explore Tavira in the evenings, sampling authentic Portuguese cuisine in charming local restaurants. Whether enjoying fresh seafood, strolling along the banks of the estuary, or unwinding in quaint coffee shops, the town provided the perfect balance of relaxation and cultural immersion.

A Week of Growth & Great Company

From technical improvements on the course to mindset shifts that will last a lifetime, this week was filled with valuable learnings. The camaraderie within the group, laughter, and shared passion for the game made it truly special. With fabulous courses, a fantastic group, and plenty of memorable moments, it’s safe to say this was another coaching week to remember!
